Positive affirmations for kids.

Sharing is caring.

A big part of our responsibilities as parents is to instill in our children positive habits and beliefs to face the adversities of life. In this article we will be talking specifically about the practice of positive affirmations for kids, to create happy and stronger adults.

Positive thinking is a powerful tool that helps us improve our health and mental state. It helps us endure and function better under stress. It helps us overcome life’s obstacles and helps us make better decisions. It is scientifically proven of the tremendous help that daily positive affirmations provide in our lives, and the same beneficial effects can be observed in children’s. The main idea of changing your thinking to a more positive one is that you can control your emotions and therefore your actions, and the most faster way to change your thoughts for positive ones, is to start with a positive conversation to yourself every day.

The most effective method to break the cycle of negative talk is by practicing daily positive affirmations. And instilling this good habit in your kids will be the turning point between a pessimist adult versus an outgoing, positive, resilient and happy adult. Our thoughts as adults are connected and influenced by the thoughts we had when we were children. And the earlier you began to positively influence your children’s thinking, the more tools you are going to give them to live a happy life.

How daily positive affirmations help our children?

Our children, like adults, are not exempt from the frustrations and problems of daily life. Many children face problems of anxiety, depression, or mental issues, without even knowing how to clearly express their feelings.

That is where the help of parents is very necessary. Positive affirmations practiced correctly and daily bring many benefits to the lives of our children, it helps them to feel more confident, strong, capable, as well as a boost in their self-esteem.

Tips for practicing daily affirmations with your kids.

First, positive affirmations must be selected for each particular child, not all children benefit from the same affirmations.

For example, My oldest son is very shy while my youngest son is very outgoing. With my oldest son, positive affirmations that work well are: I am capable, I am good at what I do, I can and I am capable of conquering my fears, etc. While with my youngest child, the affirmations that work well are: I am unique, I am a good listener, I listen and obey my parents, etc.

Make the repetition of positive affirmations a daily activity and make them feel that is part of a game. Encourage them to look into your eyes and repeat after you.

Tips to use positive affirmation cards with your kids.

  • Create flashcards: Choose your favorite affirmations, write them down, decorate the cards, or tell your children to be creative and decorate their own cards. Repeat together reading the affirmations. An added bonus of this one is that, by the act of writing the positive affirmations, they will be reinforced on their minds without they can even realize it.
  • Every day make them pick a random card: Make them read the card out loud for you multiple times.
  • Keep up the fun: Make sure that your kids are in a good mood, and ready to have some fun with you, this way they will absorb the message in a positive way.
  • There is no such thing as the perfect time to do positive daily affirmations, however, if they are done before bedtime, the kids are usually more relaxed, they are ready to listen to you, and they will go to sleep with a positive message in their minds.

Final thoughts:

Using positive affirmations with our children daily is a positive way to reinforce positive thinking and attitudes, and it helps them to have a good outlook on life in general. Integrating positive affirmations in their lives can only result in something worthwhile.

No matter how you do it, make the practice of positive affirmations part of your daily routine. Children will love it. And gradually you will be creating in their minds a positive transformation. As I mentioned before, studies have shown and proven that we all learn a belief system from an early age, a system that will go with us throughout our lives. Negative thoughts are a pattern that is attributed to negative conditioning that we unconsciously picked up during childhood or the first years of life.

Breaking the negative cycle will certainly give your kids a happy life. If you like this post, share it and feel free to comment below. Thanks for reading, and stay tuned to more posts like this one.

“Don’t worry dear, I am not why that happens but I’ll check”

lol exactly I know that you’re probably not intending for things to go that way, this is why usually when I encounter issues i try my best to alert you and give you a heads-up on any technical issues

for example, I liked your comment, but when I refreshed the page, the like was gone ??. And making a comment to you is tricky because at first everything types out but then in a matter of moments, you’re unable to correct errors in the post before it’s submitted because of the feature that disables right-clicking on your page, also affecting the comment area.

  7. Thanks for telling me dear. About 2 months or so I migrated my WordPress.com to WordPress.org and it’s been quite a challenge, I definitely don’t know how to fix all the issues but I am still not done doing optimizations, I am going to address this issue with the person that is helping me, just be patient please, thanks ?
