Child development at 12 months.

Sharing is caring.

All children don’t develop at the same pace, some of them go slow, while others learn very fast. Regardless of the activities that we can do to help them, we also have to give them time to learn and develop. There are different stages in childhood development. In this post, I will list the different activities your child should be doing within the first 12 months of life, or the normal Child development at 12 months.

Let’s begin with today’s topic of Child development at 12 months.

Communication skills.

Your baby should be able to:

  • Make two similar sounds such as “ba-ba”, “da-da” or “ga-ga”.
  • Follow easy commands like “come here”, “give it to me”, or “put it back”.
  • Say small words such as “mama”, “dada”, and “baba”.
  • If an object is present, your child should be able to identify if you ask ” where is it”
  • Point objects if he wants to hold them.

Gross motor.

  • Stand helped by furniture around, if an object fall from his hands, they should be able to pick it up from the floor and go back to the standing position.
  • In some cases babies are already walking by the age of 12 months, for the babies that are not, they should be able to at least hold your hands and give few steps without falling or tripping.

Final thoughts for today’s topic of child development at 12 months.

All this activities are possible for your 1 year old baby, remember milestones on babies are really important but is important to remember that all of them don’t develop at the same time, give them time, patience and love, and most importantly try to stimulate his learning and curiosity by doing activities with them and by providing a safe learning environment for proper growth and development, good luck.
